Man Murdered By Neighbour Over Property Dispute In Odisha

Phulbani: An elderly man was murdered allegedly over property dispute in Pipalapanga village under Sarangada police limits in Kandhamal district on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Jogeswar Pradhan.

According to reports, one Nojar Pradhan of Pipalapanga village attacked Jogeswar Pradhan following a heated exchange of words. Jogeswar died due to asphyxiation after the accused allegedly stood on his neck.

Jogeswar’s son informed that there was some land dispute between his father and the accused neighbour. However, the dispute turned uglier yesterday following an altercation, he added.

On getting information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the accused is absconding after the incident.
