Balasore: A man allegedly ended his life by suicide after failing to clear the loans he had taken for his daughter’s marriage. The shocking incident has been reported from Manatri village under Soro Police limits in the district.

The deceased has been identified as RabindraParida.

As per reports, Rabindra had taken loans to the tune of Rs 2 lakh from several finance companies and other villagers for his daughter's marriage in March, 2020.

However, Rabindra suffered a setback after lockdown was imposed across the country due to COVID-19 pandemic situation last year.

Family members informed that as all their works got stopped during the lockdown and they faced several problems.

Situation became so worse that Rabindra was not able to arrange money to repay the loans in instalments.

Deceased Rabindra’s wife Damyanti said, “My husband was mentally disturbed as the lenders were pressurising him to repay the loan. Unable to arrange money, my husband hung himself at home on Saturday.”

The district administration officials could not be contacted over such allegations.
