Man attempts suicide on premises of sub-collector's office

Rourkela: A man attempted suicide inside the premises of the sub-collector's office in Rourkela today.

According to sources, the man identified as Shashank Shekhar Satpathy hanged himself from a tree using a rope. Subsequently, he was rescued by some locals, who admitted him to the Rourkela government hospital.

However, Satpathy had to be shifted to Ispat General Hospital after his condition deteriorated, informed sources. While the reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained, some papers written in Hindi were recovered from Satpathy.

A police investigation is currently underway.
