Balasore: Telangana Police arrested a man in Balasore district yesterday and recovered around 100 high-end and expensive cycles from his possession that he had stolen from a Hyderabad-based cycle showroom recently. The accused has been identified as Deepak Jena of Kamarda area.

According to reports, Jena was working in a cycle showroom in Hyderabad and was engaged as a driver of the vehicle used for supply of cycles to different parts of Telangana. Recently, the owner of the cycle showroom, Mahesh Jain, sent Deepak to Telangana area to distribute around 100 cycles among his business partners. However, instead of going to the destinations, Deepak fled to Odisha along with the cycle-laden vehicle.

Based on the complaint lodged by Jain, Telangana police arrived in Odisha and arrested the accused with the help of Kamarda police and seized the cycles along with the high-end and expensive vehicle.

“He (Deepak Jena) was working with me as a driver of the vehicle through which I used to send cycles to different parts of Telangana. This time, instead of taking to the destinations, he came here with the vehicle,”alleged Mahesh Jain.

The market price of the seized cycles is said to be approximately Rs 10 lakh. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
