Man Along With His Two Sons Killed In Road Mishap

Khurda: A pall of gloom descended on Malipada village in Khurda district after the death of a local resident along with his two sons in a road accident on NH-16 near Gada Khordha last night.

Krushna Palta Singh along with his two sons Bikram Palta Singh and Sanjay Palta Singh of Malipada were killed after being run over by a mini truck at around 11.10 PM while they were returning to their village from Bhubaneswar on a bike.

Sources said a speeding truck ran over their bike and dragged the trio along with it for about 20 metres. While Krushna succumbed to his injuries on the spot, Bikram and Sanjay were admitted at the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition. However, the duo breathed their last while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Khurda SDPO along with a team of police personnel from Town Police station rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The mini truck has been seized but its driver is stated to be absconding.

The mortal remains of the trio will be handed over to their family members after post-mortem today, informed sources adding further investigation into the matter is underway.
