Malkangiri Collector’s PA Found Dead, Body Recovered From Dam

Malkangiri: Mystery shrouds the death of Debnarayan Panda, personal assistant (PA) of Malkangiri Collector, whose body was recovered from Satiguda dam today, a day after he went missing.

Yesterday, Panda did not return home from office following which his family members lodged a missing complaint with the local police.

Today morning, some locals spotted Panda's motorcycle and helmet lying near Satiguda dam and alerted the police.

The police rushed to the spot and called in the fire services personnel. After a thorough search, the fire Panda’s body was retrieved from the water.

Though the exact reason behind Panda’s death is still unclear, it is suspected that he committed suicide. However, further investigation is underway from other aspects of the case.

The body has been sent for post mortem and further details are awaited, police said. The cops also reportedly questioned some co-workers of Panda.

“There was no dispute in the family. There could be some official pressure which might have forced my husband to take such extreme step,” said Banaja, wife of the deceased Panda.
