Paradip: Monaco-based luxury cruise liner, Silversea Cruisestoday anchored at Paradip Port with as many as 120 foreign tourists. The ship was accorded a grand welcome on its arrival as it was the first such luxury cruise liner in ten years that dropped its anchor on Odisha coast.

The ship berthed at Wet Basin inside the port at around 5 am.All the tourists are scheduled to visit ancient Buddhist heritage sites at Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitagiri in Jajpur district by road.Two historians engaged by Odisha Government will accompany the tourists during their expedition in the State.

According to reports, the cruise liner is scheduled to leave Paradip port with the guests today evening.

The international Silversea Cruises with 120 tourists is on a 14-night Asian expedition in which it has included Odisha in its itinerary.

It will also cover several other ports including Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Sundarbans and Maheskhali Island along Indian coast and St Martin’s Island in Bangladesh. It will also cover Ngapali Beach, Rakhine State, Mawlamyine and Hpa-an and Port Yazar of Yangon in Myanmar.
