Luxury cruise liner to dock at Paradip on Republic Day

Paradip: Odisha is all set to welcome luxury cruise liner which will dock at Paradip port on Republic Day. Nearly, 120 foreign tourists are scheduled to visit several Buddhist sites in Odisha after the cruise liner docks at Paradip, official sources said.

It will be after a long gap that a luxury cruise liner will drop its anchor on Odisha coast. According to reports, Silversea Cruises, a Monaco-based luxury cruise liner, has included Odisha in its Asian expedition itinerary this time.

Odisha government on the other hand is also not leaving any stone unturned to the make visit of foreign tourists’ memorable. Two historians will accompany the foreign tourists to several popular destinations in the State.

Paradip Port chairman, Rinkesh Roy said, “The arrival of the cruise liner is certainly a proud moment for us. This will boost tourism in the State.”

Expressing similar views, social activist Sudhir Das said, “The government should work towards improving infrastructure so that it attracts more tourists. Similarly, efforts need to be taken to put Paradip on the world tourism map.”
