Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Saturday issued fresh heavy rainfall warning for several parts of Odisha.

As per the latest bulletin, a cyclonic circulation lies over west-central Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, a fresh low pressure is likely to form over the central Bay of Bengal around October 19 and the system will become well marked in the subsequent 24 hours.

Under its influence, Odisha will experience enhanced rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some districts between October 19 and 21, the Regional Meteorological Centre said in a statement.

Here is detailed weather outlook issued by IMD’s Regional Centre:

Day 1 (Valid from 0830 hours of October 19 to 0830 hours of October 20)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur in the districts of south and north Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall alert has been issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam and Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hours of October 20 to 0830 hours of October 21)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur in the districts of south, north, coastal Odisha.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated parts of Ganjam and Gajapati.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall also likely to occur at isolated parts in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Puri.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hours of October 21to 0830 hours of October 22)

Light to moderate rain and thundershower likely to occur at coastal, south interior and north interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall alert issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Bhadrak.
