Bhubaneswar: The Low Pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of Southeast Bay of Bengal has now become well marked, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.

The system is likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 36 hours. The system is likely to move west-north-westwards and reach near south Tamil Nadu coast around December 2.

Under the influence of the above system, scattered to widespread rainfall activity is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Rayalaseema between December 1 and 3.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and isolated extremely rainfall likely over south Tamilnadu and south Kerala on December 2

Heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning also very likely to occur over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and Lakshadweep area during December 2-3.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into SE Bay of Bengal & adjoining South Andaman Sea on November 29 and central parts of South Bay of Bengal on November 30.
