Lovers commit suicide after parents refuse to accept relationship

Gajapati: In a shocking incident, two teenage love birds committed suicide by consuming pesticides in Dubruguda village under R.Udayagiri police limits of Gajapati district after parents refused to accept their relationship.

The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Rayet and Jasmine Dalbehera.

Sources said, the duo was in love but their parents were against the relationship. Unable to convince their parents, the duo committed suicide by drinking pesticides.

As per reports, both were rushed to R.Udayagiri Community Health Center in critical condition where Jasmine was breathed her last.

After the boy's condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Paralakhemundi District Headquarter Hospital (DDH) where he died.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
