Cuttack: A loot complaint has been filed against Cuttack Zilla Parishad vice-president Sunil Parida at the Athagarh police station. One Prabhas Kumar Jena of Hemamalapur village in the district has filled a written complaint against Parida at the police station.

As per the complaint, Sunil along with his four associates intercepted Prabhas while he was returning to home on May 29 and looted a gold chain and Rs 22,000 cash from him.

"I had gone to see a land mutation work in the village. While returning to home in the night, they thrashed me and looted cash and a gold chain," said Prabhas.

On the other hand, Parida refuted the allegations and termed it as a political conspiracy against him.

"The allegations are completely false and baseless. Since I am an active member of the BJD here, the Congress has hatched a conspiracy against me. Everything will be clear in eight to 10 days," said Parida.

"We have already started an investigation, as per the complaint, into the incident," said a police official.
