Lizard Found In Mid-Day Meal In Odisha

Balasore: A lizard was found in the mid-day meal (MDM) served to a student in a school in Balasore district today creating panic among other students and the school authorities alike.

According to sources, a student traced a part of a lizard while taking MDM at Palabaleswar Primary School in Sadar block area.

Even though the exact circumstances as to how the reptile got into the meal is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that it might have fallen into the food while it was being cooked.

Meanwhile, as three girl students were taken ill after consuming the meals, fearing any health complications, several students of the school who had consumed the food have been admitted to a local hospital.

Soon after the incident, the head master of the school took stock of the situation. However, he claimed that since he was not present in the school when the incident happened, he would be able to clarify only after a probe.
