Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) today clarified that list of party candidates for the upcoming elections that are being circulated on several social media platforms are fake.

Odisha Congress Media Cell chief,  Satya Prakash Nayak on Thursday said that some people are circulating fake list of Congress candidates for the 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly constituencies on social media. "OPCC wants to clarify that the list of Congress candidates that is being circulated on several social media platforms is not the official one, it's a fake list," said Nayak.

He further said that the party has not issued any such list to anyone and no one should believe such rumours and fake list.

It is worth mentioning that the Odisha Congress on Wednesday sent a tentative list of poll candidates to the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC). The AICC will announce the names of the candidates based on the list sent by the Odisha Congress.

Meanwhile, Odisha Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh today said only one party ticket will be allotted in case there are more than one aspirants belonging to a particular family. "We have decided to give tickets mostly to new faces, youths and women," he added.
