Cuttack: A probe following seizure of thousands of litres of adulterated edible oil in Cuttack has revealed that the racket is an inter-state one with links that can reportedly be traced to Rajasthan & West Bengal (WB).

Launching a probe into the matter, the Commissionerate Police raided the Malgodown area in Cuttack today and found links of this racket in Rajasthan & West Bengal.

Akhileswar Singh, DCP Cuttack said, "The racket used to bring adulterated oil from Rajasthan & Haldia in West Bengal and supply it in Gop, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara & Jagatsinghpur areas of Odisha. An investigation is underway."

On the other hand, Cuttack District Collector has also said that the district administration will constitute a team to investigate the matter.

Earlier yesterday, a special team of Commissionerate Police conducted a raid at a factory in Bamphakuda area of Cuttack and seized no less than 30 thousand liters of adulterated edible oil.
