Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA) has come up with a slew of measures to improve the service-delivery mechanism in Regional Transport Offices (RTO) across Odisha.

As part of the ongoing reforms initiatives, vehicle owners can avail various services including transfer of ownership, change of address and renewal of registration certificate in online mode at any RTO of the State irrespective of their vehicle/ vehicles registration with an RTO.
To avail such services, vehicle owners need to link their mobile phone number along with vehicle details on the official VAHAN portal.

In a tweet, STA wrote, “If mobile number of the vehicle is not registered or incorrect in the VAHAN database, vehicle owners have to update their mobile phone number in https://parivahan.gov.in.”

The STA has asked vehicle owners to visit the official website of the transport department to get information about the detail procedure to update their mobile phone number.

As per STA, people can get various vehicle related information through SMS on their registered mobile phone number.

The vehicle owners can also verify the vehicle related data online and in VAHAN database by visiting the website, https://parivahan.gov.in or mparivahan Mobile-app.

Important Suggestions:

-If any vehicle owner finds that the data available on VAHAN portal is incorrect, then they will have to file application through an e-mail to the original registering authority in prescribed format with self-attested copy of Aadhaar and mobile number for correction of registration particulars.

-In case of correction of engine number and or/ chasis number of a vehicle, the registered owner of the vehicle will have to file an application through an e-mail to the original registering authority in prescribed format with self-attested copy of Aadhaar and mobile number to any registering authority of Odisha before whom the owner of the vehicle intends to produce the vehicle for inspection.
