Bhubaneswar: Several places across Odisha including capital city Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Bhadrak received light rainfall today which affected normal life of people.

According to the Regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar, rainfall is likely to affect several places today and tomorrow under the impact of a trough line. Cloudy weather is likely to be witnessed in different parts of the State and after two days, there will be slight improvement in the weather.

However, minimum temperature readings which witnessed a sudden rise due to cloudy weather will again start to dip 2 to 3 degree Celsius after next two days, said the Met authorities.

The Met has issued thunderstorm & lightning warning for several districts- Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack, Angul, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kalahandi & Gajapati for 24 hrs.

The weather department has suggested farmers to remain alert in the areas where there is maximum possibility of rainfall.

So far till 8:30 AM today, Sonepur recorded highest of 31.2 mm rainfall followed by Jharsuguda with 18.9 mm and Bolangir with 15.6 mm rainfall, informed Duty Officer of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Sudhakar Mallick.
