Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Saturday predicted that some parts of Odisha will experience light rainfall in the next 24 hours.

Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas informed that there is a probability of rainfall in isolated pockets in the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Ganjam.

“Several parts of Odisha are experiencing cloudy weather and there is probability of light rain in some districts of the State in the next 24 hours,” said Biswas.

Biswas further informed that already cold wave conditions are prevailing in the State with minimum temperature dipping below 10 degrees Celsius in five districts yesterday. Sonepur and Daringbadi in Kandhamal recorded lowest minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius followed by Angul 10.6 degrees Celsius. Several districts in northern and interior parts of Odisha also experienced a drop below two to three degrees Celsius than normal yesterday.

“Apart from light rain in some parts, cold wave conditions will prevail in most districts with sharp fall in minimum temperature in the next two days,” Biswas added.
