Cuttack: Lawyers from across the State have called for a two-day strike from February 11 to press for their long-standing demands including better infrastructural facilities for Courts and budgetary allocation for financial protection, stipend and insurance cover for them and their families.

State Bar Council Chairman Tahali Charan Mohanty informed that members of different bar associations will hold protest meeting in front of local courts on February 11 and submit the charter of demands to District Collectors and local Tehsildars requesting them to forward it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The lawyers have also threatened to launch a cease-work on February 12.

On the same day, a delegation of the lawyers will meet Governor Ganeshi Lal at the Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar and submit a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister, Mohanty added.
