Rourkela: Train services on the South Eastern Railways have been severely disrupted today following a landslide on railway track near Bano station, 70 km away from the steel city Rourkela.

According to sources, a part of a hill near Bano station on Odisha-Jharkhand border collapsed under the impact of heavy rain today evening triggering a landslide near the station. Huge amount of debris was deposited on the railway track near the station following the landslide.

As many as four trains running on Rourkela-Hatia-Ranchi route including Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Express and Dhanbad-Alleppy Bokaro Express have been stranded due to the landslide.

Sources said railways officials have launched cleaning works on the route to restore train services.
