Jajpur: The infamous Guest House- 'Rangasala' from where the body of Smitarani Biswal, the lady village level worker (VLW) & in-charge panchayat executive officer (PEO) of Haridaspur, was recovered has been constructed on government land and will be demolished very soon, informed Jajpur District Collector Ranjan Das today.

Accepting that the local Sarpanch's husband Rupesh Bhadra has constructed the guest house illegally on government land, Das said, "As per the report of Tehsildar, it is clear that accused Rupesh Bhadra's guest house is on government land. However, it cannot be demolished now as police investigation is still underway. Once the investigation is over, it will be demolished."

This apart, the Collector informed that the administration would clamp Sec 144 around the guest house.

It is pertinent to mention that both Congress and BJP had cornered the ruling-BJD alleging that it has provided the government land to Rupesh, who has been arrested in connection with PEO death case. They had also demanded that the government should to take the land under its possession.
