Jagatsinghpur: A senior clerk posted at the Collector officer in Jagatsinghpur has found herself in Vigilance net for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

Officials of the anti-corruption department on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at multiple places and property associated with the senior clerk Sanjukta Das based on allegations of possession of unaccounted wealth.

As per reports, searches are being carried out at Das’ paternal home at Satpura, a two-storied building in Panisalia and her house in Aditya Residency in Cuttack. The sleuths are also examining important documents and her bank passbooks apart from searching her lockers.

Pradeep Samal, Vigilance Inspector, Cuttack informed that the total valuation of her alleged ill-gotten property is being estimated and final report will be out by this evening.

The total valuation of the disproportion assets in possession of the lady clerk was estimated at Rs Rs 1.42 crore.

A few days ago, the Vigilance department had arrested Udaynath Jena, a senior clerk posted at the Bhubaneswar Sub-Collectorate on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income. The sleuths detected Rs 1.32 crore unaccounted assets in his possession.

In another raid conducted that day, the anti-graft officials detected crores of movable and immovable assets in the possession of one Ratnakar Mohanty, who happens to be a junior clerk at Dharmasala Sub-Registrar office. The total assets of Mohanty and his family members were calculated at Rs 1.29 crore, informed Vigilance SP.
