Bhubaneswar: Five days after a massive explosion of detonators in a stone quarry in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh claimed lives of as many as 15 persons, the police have arrested five persons including two from Odisha in connection with the incident.

Sources said five persons including the owner of the mines and main accused Srinivas Choudhury have been arrested in connection with the August 3 incident.

Meanwhile, another person from Odisha succumbed to injuries today. The deceased identified a Pandab Lenka of Biti Nuagaon under Rambha police limits of Ganjam district died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Visakhapatnam.

Earlier on August 7, Rajendra Nahak, a resident of Diandein village had succumbed to injuries during his treatment in Visakhapatnam.

In total, six persons from Odisha have been killed in the explosion, while another person Ramchandra of Bichanabala village is still undergoing treatment.
