Bhubaneswar: A day after Orissa High Court ordered for a court monitored probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the alleged Kunduli gang rape case, family members of the deceased minor girl on Tuesday asserted that a CBI probe can only deliver justice to them.

“We thank Orissa High Court for hearing the matter. Already two years have passed, and how many more investigations will be conducted,” questioned aunt of the deceased.

She further said, “We have already lost our daughter. We believe that only after a CBI probe is ordered, we can get something (justice).”

Orissa HC on Monday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the investigation conducted by Crime Branch into the alleged Kunduli gang rape case.

The 14-year-old girl from Musaguda village in Koraput district was allegedly raped by four ‘men in uniform’ while she was returning home from Kunduli market on October 10, 2017. Later, the girl committed suicide on January 22, 2018.
