Koraput: Every person is gifted with some talent. But one should have the courage to follow it, and that is how individuals nurturing their talent with hard work separate themselves from the rest. Reiterating his mind to process life based on his talent, Odisha youth Tukuna Turuk has now entered the Asia Book of Records. He has set a record for the maximum number of wrist push-ups in one minute.

Turuk, who happens to be a resident of Bandikar village in Koraput district, hit the record book by performing 94 wrist push-ups in one minute.

Thrilled with the achievement, the B.Tech student said, "I was interested to be different from what other youths in the district are doing. I was good at push-ups, so I put the whole of my concentration in that and the result is here."

Turuk is also a bronze-medallist in national Taekwondo. "The more we keep ourselves engaged in sporting activities, we can keep ourselves fit and have full control over our body," he believes.

Asked about his inspiration, Turuk named two actors - Akshay Kumar and Vidyut Jammwal- whom he follows with utmost dedication. "I am a big fan of Akshay Kumar and have learnt most of the martial art skills from him through his videos. I also watch YouTube videos of actor Vidyut Jammwal."

His daily schedule includes a one-hour warm-up, one-hour Taekwondo and 30 minutes push-ups (the number is roughly over 500 push-ups a day).

This is reportedly the third entry of Tukuna Tukur into the record books. He has been appreciated and nominated by Bravo International Book of World Records in Asian Sub-Continental Edition 2020 for 61 decline knuckle push-ups in one minute. The Koraput youth was also nominated for Credence Book of World Record for most push-ups (fingertips) in one minute.
