Bhubaneswar: At a time when life is slowly limping back to normalcy in flood-hit Kerala, efforts have now been undertaken by the Malayalee community in Odisha to extend a helping hand to the people in distress.

The Kerala Samaj today set up Kerala Relief Information Centre in Bhubaneswar to collect funds and other materials for the flood-hit victims in Kerala.

The information centre will be jointly operated by World Kerala Malayalee Council (Odisha council), Kerala Kala Samiti (Bhubaneswar) and Odisha unit of All India Malayalee Association.

Bhubaneswar Mayor Anant Narayan Jena today inaugurated the Kerala relief and information centre in the capital city.

"Anybody from Odisha wishing to donate can directly come to our centre and their contribution will be sent directly to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund," said president of World Kerala Malayalee Council, Benjamin Simon.
