Kendrapara man thrashes brother, sister-in-law in public over land dispute

Kendrapara: Following an altercation over a land-related dispute, a man tied up his younger brother and sister-in-law and thrashed them in public view in Ramkani village under Mahakalapada Police limits of Kendrapara district.

As per reports, Ajay Behera of Ramakani village had a fight with his elder brother, Bijay over a land dispute. Sources said that Ajay attacked his father over construction work being undertaken by Bijay. Irate over Ajay's protest and attack on his father, Bijay allegedly tied the hands and legs of Ajay and his wife and beat them up on the main road of the village today.

On being informed by some locals, Mahakalapada Police reached the village and rescued the couple with the help of the villagers. Police reportedly have detained Bijay and his son for interrogation.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed sources.
