Kartikeswar Mahotsav concludes in Banki

Cuttack: The five-day long Kartikeswar Mahotsav at Ragadi under Banki tehsil in Cuttack district concluded on Friday. Former MP Baijayant Panda graced the concluding ceremony of the Mahotsav .

Panda was accorded a grand welcome as he reached Banki and later taken to the venue in a bike rally, reports said.

A host of cultural programmes, including folk dances and folk songs by artistes from across the State, entertained the audience.

“I would thank the organisers to preserve the history, tradition and culture of the place by organising such event. Thousands of people have thronged the Mahotsav which is really overwhelming,” said Panda.

Banki-Barang Youth Association convenor Tusharkant Chakraborty, who was also present at the event, said, “Such a huge crowd is an example that people of Banki stand united to preserve and develop the tradition and culture of the place."
