Kandhamal: Wife Of Phiringia BDO Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances

Phulbani: Mystery shrouds the death of the wife of Rashmiranjan Mahanta, BDO of Phiringia in Kandhamal district, whose body was recovered under strange circumstances Wednesday night. The body has been kept at the Phulbani hospital for an autopsy.

It was surprising to see that despite informing the family members about her death and asking them to receive the body, none came to the hospital, sources said.

Without waiting for the family anymore, police sent the body for an autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of the death. A case has also been registered in this connection.

"We are investigating the possible circumstances which led to her death. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, however, we can only confirm that after receiving the post mortem reports. The PM report is awaited. Further investigation is on," said Mahendranath Murmu, Phulbani SDPO.

In another incident, police today recovered the body of a woman found hanging in her house in Salepur college road in Cuttack district. The deceased was reportedly an employee of autonomous college in Salepur.
