Nagpur: Former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court Justice VA Mohata passed away on Tuesday evening at Akola of Nagpur in Maharashtra. He was at 85.

Mohata was the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court from September 28, 1994 to April 25, 1995. During his tenure as the Orissa HC Chief Justice, Mohata delivered several land mark Judgements.

After his retirement, he did not accept any appointment from government. Instead he worked as a senior lawyer at the Supreme Court.
