Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed the Judicial Complex at Lewis Road here for seven days following the detection of Covid-19 positive cases in the court complex.

The BMC’s action comes after the Court Registrar wrote to the Civic Body authorities requesting immediate action to check further spread of the virus.

BMC, through a notification, stated, “In larger public interest and with a view to contain the further spread of virus, the Judicial Complex at Lewis Road, Bhubaneswar is sealed for a period of 07 days from 29.04.2021 to 05.05.2021.”

The Civic body also set some conditions while imposing the restriction. These include sanitization of the complex with immediate effect amid strict guidelines issued by the State and the Central Government, restriction in public entry and others.

“No one shall be allowed to move into or from outside the premises of Judicial Complex, Bhubaneswar during the period of sealing, except authorized personnel of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation,” the notification read.

Similarly, the detected positive cases have been directed to remain in isolation at their respective residences.

The BMC has also asked the judicial complex authorities to intimate the civic body authorities if any of the infected person needs medical attention and any other staff develops symptoms of Covid-19 for testing.

The Judicial Complex authorities have also been asked to contact BMC Control Room (Mob: 7847873040) or 1929 in case of emergency for immediate assistance.
