Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Friday announced that it will provide free transportation and accommodation facilities for the candidates from the State who will appear in the upcoming JEE (Mains) Examination from September 1 to September 6.

Odisha Chief Secretary, Asit Tripathy today informed that nearly 37,000 students from the State will take the upcoming JEE Main examination. “As per the directions of the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the State government will make necessary arrangements for transportation and accommodation for the candidates,” said Tripathy.

There will be no restriction on the movement of candidates, their guardians and officials who will conduct the exams, he informed.

Tripathy said nearly 16,000 candidates will appear in various examination centres in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and till now there is no information from which districts the candidates will come.

The candidates, who do not have their own transport to reach the examination centre or accommodation, should enlist for availing the Government transport and accommodation facilities.

Tripathy urged JEE aspirants to share details on the number of nodal ITI principals by August 31 so that necessary arrangement could be made for transportation & accommodation.

Nodal ITIs in the districts will facilitate the accommodation for candidates. Besides, those who want to avail the Government transport should report at the nodal ITIs on or before August 31. Hostels of Engineering colleges and polytechnics will be also used for providing accommodation to the students.
