Bhubaneswar: Saurabh Soumyakant Das is the topper from Odisha in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, the results of which were announced by the HRD Ministry’s National Testing Agency on Friday night. Das scored 99.99 percentile score in the exam.

According to reports, nine candidates have topped the exam with 100 percentile score in the examination.
It is for the first time in the history of competitive exams that NTA released the JEE Main result within eight days of completing the exam.

The JEE (Main) Examination for B.E./B.Tech was conducted by NTA between January 7 and January 9, 2020 in two shifts per day across 233 cities in the country and abroad.

A total of 9,21,261 candidates had registered for B.E. /B. Tech for the exam. As many as 8,69,010 candidates had appeared for the BE and B.Tech exam.

Of the nine who got 100 percentile score in the examination also include Delhi boy Nishant Agarwal.

Around 1.5 lakh students, who have topped the exam, are eligible for the JEE Advanced and for selection to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), sources said.
