Kendrapara: Former MP Baijayant 'Jay' Panda on Monday met the bereaved family members of an 8-year-old boy of Nolasahi village, Tushar Mallick, who drowned while taking a bath in a canal on October 7.

Panda consoled Tushar's parents and extend his support to the family members.

Besides, he met the four families of Giranga village in Marshaghai whose houses were gutted in a major fire on October 4.

"This Mahakalpada family was stoic about losing their 8yr old son/brother in a drowning accident, but the next door neighbour whom the boy used to call auntie was inconsolable. Another woman lost everything in a fire. It's my duty to assist, console, encourage, & stand by my ppl," said Panda in a tweet.
