Jagatsinghpur bombing case: Congress workers demand arrest of prime suspect

Jagatsinghpur: Congress party workers of Jagatsinghpur today launched a demonstration alleging inaction by police and demanded police to expedite the investigation of a case of bomb hurling at a vehicle owned by the Sarpanch of Ukundura Panchayat under Biridi Police limits in the district. Though police have arrested one person in connection with the case, the party workers are demanding to apprehend the mastermind who had plotted and executed the bomb blast.

As per reports, the Congress workers demonstrated a protest over the aforesaid demand, in front of Biridi Police station.

A group of workers also met the Jagatsinghpur SDPO in presence of the Magistrate to discuss the issue.

Having discussed the matter with the workers, SDPO Prakash Chandra Pal said, "As the incident might have some big links, a thorough investigation is required and action will be taken based on the investigation reports."

Reportedly, some unidentified miscreants had hurled bombs at the vehicle of Ukundura Panchayat Sarpanch on February 22 this year.
