Cuttack: Five officials of the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) today met the special task force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch and sought help in laying down pipelines. They alleged that some anti-social elements are hindering the pipeline work.

IOCL officials alleged that oil from the pipeline is pilfered in Angul and Dhenkanal by an inter-state gang and sought help of the investigating agency to address the issue.

IOCL director (pipeline division), PC Choubey said they demanded that the STF should take action against the culprits and stop pilferage from the cross-country pipeline.

“Some pilferages from the pipeline have been noticed in the cross-country oil supply project from Paradip to Jharkhand and Raipur. Today we met the STF officials. We demanded that the culprit should be nabbed. The STF officials have assured stern action will be taken against the miscreants,” Choubey added.
