Intelligence sleuths seize brown sugar, ganja in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In separate instances, intelligence sleuths today seized brown sugar and ganja in Bhubaneswar. 

According to sources, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence intercepted a truck near Chandaka area which was transporting ganja worth Rs 9 Lakh from Andhara Pradesh to Bihar. Around, 44 packets of the contraband item were seized, though the driver managed to escape from the spot.

Sources informed that the truck owner and the transport agency officials have been summoned by the DRI sleuths for further investigation.

In another incident, officials of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) arrested a youth on charges of peddling brown sugar.

The youth identified as Munna Sethy was nabbed near Khandagiri.

Munna has reportedly confessed that he used to procure brown sugar from Khurda and sell it in the city.
