Paradip: Indian Navy ships INS ‘Sumedha’ and INS ‘Tihayu’ arrived at Paradip Port today ahead of the National Navy Day which is going to be celebrated on December 4.

As per reports, both the ships arrived at the Port for an exhibition for the public during the Navy Day

"We celebrate National Navy day on December 4 every year to commemorate the achievements of Indian Navy in 1971 war in Karachi harbour," Naval officer, Captain Saroj Pradhan said.

"Two ships have arrived at the port and surveillance by coast guard ships has been increased and we are ready to deal with any situation," said another Navy official.

Earlier in August, Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), ‘Vijaya’ arrived at the port whose presence has strengthened the maritime security along the Odisha coastline. The OPV also helped in undertaking economic zone surveillance and carrying out environmental security assessment.
