New Delhi: Newly-appointed Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal today said the Indian Constitution is not in danger, instead those who try to violate it will be in trouble.

Talking to OTV, Lal stated, "People who try to put the Indian Constitution in danger are the ones who will land in trouble. Existence of political parties could be in danger, but not the Constitution."

"The Governor of any State is for the Constitution, of the Constitution and by the Constitution. As per the Constitution, everyone is equal irrespective of caste, creed and colour which means even a person from the lowest strata of the society should take pride in his/her place of birth," Lal stated.

In the federal structure, unity should exist like the different flowers in a bouquet. A person has different roles in his or her life and it is important how judiciously they play their part.

"Where someone hails from or which post he/she has occupied in the past is unimportant," Lal stated.

Replying to a query what would be the priorities as the Chancellor of universities, Lal said, "I would like to meet all the VCs. Efforts will be made to ensure that Odiya youths are known worldwide."
