Bhubaneswar: As many as 14 police personnel from Odisha have been selected to receive police medals on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. The medals were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday.

The police personnel receiving Police medal for distinguished service are Benugopal Acharya, in-charge Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Division in Bhubaneswar and Biranchi Narayan Sahoo, Constable, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in Bhubaneswar.

Similarly, the cops who will be honoured with police medal for meritorious service are -

• Tapas RanjanMohapatra, Assistant Commandant, SOG, Bhubaneswar.

• Sarok Kumar Patel, Inspector, SIW, Bhubaneswar.
