Bhubaneswar: Various awareness events including bike rally, female two-wheeler rider rally, meetings on road safety were held across Odisha to mark the beginning of National Road Safety Month today.

The National Road Safety Week is usually observed from January 11 to 17 every year but this year, the Ministry of Transport and Highways have decided to observe the event as National Road Safety Month from January 18 to February 17. The initiative aims to build awareness about road safety and reduce road accidents in the country.

Let's have a look on how the National Road Safety Week was launched at several places of Odisha.

Cuttack: Police Commissioner of Twin City, Sudhanshu Sarangi attended the launch of the 32nd National Road Safety Month organised by the Traffic Police department in Cuttack. He inaugurated Eye Checking Camp and flagged off Road Safety Awareness Chariot & Bike Rally on the occasion. Free helmets were also distributed to children during the event.

Female two-wheeler rider rally held in Cuttack to mark National Road Safety Month

Bhubaneswar: The Traffic Wing of Commissionerate Police organised a special function at Traffic PS1 in the capital city on the occasion of 32nd National Road Safety Month. The event was marked by a Bike Rally, provision of 25 First-aid kit box by AMRI Hospitals and a performance by Ganesh & Group. The event was attended by Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi.

Sambalpur: A Bike rally was launched by Sambalpur Police near office of the SP. The awareness campaign will have Rahgiri, marathon, walkathon, cyclothon etc.
