Bhubaneswar: IMPaCT (Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust), the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd in collaboration with Swabhiman, organised 'Standing Wheelchair and Laptop Distribution Programme' at its AGM office in Bomikhal area of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

More than 15 persons with disabilities, who have earned fame in the field of education, sports and social service, were given standing wheelchairs and laptops on the occasion.

Attending the event, State Commission for Persons with Disabilities Odisha chairperson Sulochana Das praised the initiative of IMPaCT and Swabhiman.

IMPaCT has been distributing scholarship to disabled students for the last 10 years. IMPaCT Trustee Paramita Panda and Swabhiman founder Sruti Mohapatra were present at the event.

“My heartfelt thanks to IMPaCT and Swabhiman for extending help to disabled persons, including students who are trying to excel in various fields,” said Sulochana Das.

“I thank Sruti Mohapatra and Sulochana Das for gracing this occasion. This has enabled us to give back to the society even if in a very small measure. It was a delight to see the standing wheelchair operational and the smile on the face of the persons who got it,” said IMPaCT Trustee Paramita Panda.

"During Covid-19 pandemic students faced major difficulties in study but many like Paramita Panda came forward and distributed laptops and other supportive devices which helped them showcase their talent,” said Swabhiman founder, Sruti Mohapatra.
