Bhubaneswar: People in different parts of Odisha are now reeling under scorching heat conditions due to the rise in maximum temperature for the past 48 hours. Though there will be no considerable change in maximum temperature, several parts of Odisha will experience rain or thunderstorm activities in the next 24 hours.

As per the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jharsuguda in the next 24 hours.

Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40- 50 kmph has also been issued at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

The IMD has also sounded alert for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.04.202L up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.04.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph alert issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.04.202L up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.04.2021)

Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati and Ganjam.
