Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar on Sunday issued thunderstorm warning to as many as 17 districts of Odisha for the next 12 hours.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the IMD,  a yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 Kilometre per hour are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Nuapada, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jajpur and Deogarh.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershower are very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and at one or two places over the rest of the districts of Odisha, the IMD bulletin read.

People are advised to remain cautious and stay safe during the period.

“There will be no large change in the maximum temperature (Day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days,” read the IMD release.

Bhubaneswar will witness partly cloudy sky with possibility of development of thunder or lightning in the next 24 hours. Maximum and minimum temperature very likely to be around 37°C and 25°C respectively in the Capital City.
