Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under the effect of the heat wave as 11 places in the State witnessed temperature above 40 degree Celsius on Monday.

Sonepur sizzled at 44.8 degree Celsius , followed by Sambalpur 44.7, Titlagarh 44.6, Talcher 44.3, Jharsuguda 44 degree Celsius. Similarly, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack record maximum temperature of 38.2 degree Celsius and 37.8 degree Celsius respectively.

Bhubaneswar Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued heat wave warning for nine districts –Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Nuapada.

“The heat wave conditions will prevail in several parts of Odisha for the next two to three days and there is also possibility of nor’wester rains also,” said director of Bhubaneswar Regional Centre, HR Biswas.
