Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 positive persons should refrain from taking vaccine jabs, advised Director of Capital Hospital, Laxmidhar Sahoo on Friday.

“If any person is tested positive for Covid-19, he/she should not take vaccine. If you are taking COVID19 Vaccine shot even though tested positive for the virus, it will create more harm than good,” Sahoo said.

“It is a wrong notion that the vaccine shot may bring comfort to those affected by the virus. People should refrain from such wrong belief,” he added.

Asked about reports of shortage of vaccines in the State, “As you know, Covaxin is being given in the capital city. We have enough stock of Covaxin. However, due to shortage of Covishield, vaccination was reportedly stopped in 12 districts.” Sahoo said.
