Bhubaneswar: Hasina Bibi, the wife of Sheikh Hyder refuted the allegations of their family’s involvement in the escape of the gangster from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on April 10.

Hasini told that neither any of her sons nor son-in-law was involved in Hyder’s escape but rather he fled the hospital while undergoing treatment.

She feigned ignorance about Hyder’s plan of escape adding that allegations on the family’s involvement in the matter are baseless and false.

“Neither my sons nor son-in-law has any role in his (Hyder’s) escape. They all have gone somewhere in fear of getting arrested by the police,” said Hasina.

“I have been cooperating with the police since the beginning and if the cops discover link of my sons or son-in-law’s involvement in his escape, legal action should be initiated against them,” she added.

It may be noted that following the escape of Hyder from SCB Hospital, his two sons- SK Azharuddin and SK Chunni have been absconding since last week.

On the other hand, Sheikh Hyder who was nabbed by a team of Cuttack Police from Sangareddy district of Telangana yesterday has been brought back to Odisha by a team of Twin City Police today.
