Cuttack: Passengers travelling in Howrah – Secunderabad Falaknuma Express had a narrow escape after one bogie of the train got derailed near Kapilas Road station today.

As per preliminary reports, the last bogie (luggage carrier) jumped the tracks and the East Coast Railway Authorities (ECoR) termed it as a small derailment.

“It was a minor incident as only one bogie of the train got derailed while all the passengers are safe,” said ECoR public relations officer, Nirakar Das.

Das further informed that after the bogie is detached and after a thorough security check, the train will be allowed to resume its scheduled journey.

The entire exercise may take an hour or more while further details in connection with the incident are awaited.
