Bhubaneswar: Rajasthan CID Crime Branch arrested two jawans including one from Odisha on the charges of sharing crucial information with a Pakistan-based woman ISI agent. The Odia jawan Bichitra Behera reportedly hails from Ganjam district and was allegedly found to be honey trapped by Pakistan-based ISI operatives on social media.

Official sources said Behera, who has been booked under Section 3 (spying) of the Official Secrets Act, was arrested from Jaipur railway station on Wednesday. The other arrested jawan has been identified as Lance Naik Ravi Verma.

Both the jawans were engaged on Facebook with a woman named Seerat, sources said.

As per allegations, Behera provided confidential information to the Pakistan woman agent via social media. He also accepted money from the other side after giving out the information.

Moreover, Behra was in touch with the woman for the last two years and shared crucial information on the Exercise Sindhu Sudarshan Project, sources said.

Behera’s brother Kalia, on the other hand, said that, “They only got information through TV news. Moreover, He (Bichitra) can never do such kind of act as he always used to beat me for doing mischief or any wrong thing.”

Sources said around 150 profiles used by Pakistan to honey trap Indian Army personnel were identified earlier. An advisory was also issued in this regard by the Indian Army.
