Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha Friday announced one day holiday on November 3 in Tirtol and Balasore Sadar areas in view of the by-elections for the two assembly constituencies.

As per a release issued by CEO office on Friday, all government offices, educational institutions and businesses establishments would remain closed in order to facilitate people to cast their votes.

The officials and those engaged on poll duty for a period of three days or more will be entitled for a day’s leave which can be availed at any time this year. The leave is subjected to the production of the relevant certificate from their senior officials certifying their deployment on election duty.

The voters of Balasore and Tirtol constituencies who are working outside can also avail a leave to exercise their franchise on November 3. Such voters will have to produce relevant documents that they are voters in the poll bound constituencies and take permission from their respective officers/ officials, the release read.
